The design externally honours traditional Cycladean vernacular style, with a modernist internal influence and strong consideration for sustainability. Within the estate are fields of wheat, a working vineyard, olive groves and orchards. Early summer sees swathes of wildflowers. If you venture further afield Sifnos has a great food scene, sandy beaches and historic villages to explore.
The ground floor offers fantastic open-plan living with vaulted ceilings and French doors overlooking the pool terrace and sea beyond. The whole of the upper floor is given over to the master suite, with a large in-ground soaking tub, four terraces, and two verandas giving 360-degree views. A covered passageway leads to the two guest suites with en suite bathrooms with showers.
There's a long dining table under a shaded verandah and comfortable seating under another. Tables and chairs are set out on the upper terraces, along with a BBQ. The infinity pool has in-water sun beds, and sun loungers are on the surrounding terrace. From the property's back gate, you can access a scenic hiking trail.
The capital, Apollonia, is just a 10-minute drive away and offers a lively array of bars, restaurants, cafés, and shops. Another five minutes from there is the village of Kastro, a must-visit for its charm and history. Numerous sandy beaches are all within a 20-minute drive, and for off-season travellers, a network of scenic hiking trails offers endless opportunities for exploration. The main port of Kamares, with ferries to Athens and neighbouring islands, is also conveniently located 20 minutes from the villa.
